Book Sales provide an opportunity for all children to buy a new book.
Student Benefits
When Highland Children’s Books visits a school £1.00 discount vouchers are distributed to each child in the school and nursery. These vouchers allow students to purchase any book of their choice at a discounted rate. It also means that the majority of books will cost £5.00 or less. Students can select from over 500 fiction and non fiction books. Different genres are included in every Book Sale. They include mystery, fantasy, romance, action, classics, poetry, history, science, nature, cookbooks, joke books and art books. Scottish books are always included. Truly, there is something for everyone.
School Benefits
The main benefit for the school is that all the students have the opportunity to take a book home from the Book Sale. This is because even without any money students can exchange their vouchers for a World Book Day issued book, or slightly damaged book from the stock.
If requested and when possible, Jill can attend Book Sales and help students with their selections. Jill has many years experience in helping even reluctant readers to find a good book.
